An afterschool program for middle school, and high school
students hosted by Straight Up Music.
This program provides our local youth the opportunity to enhance their songwriting abilities and discover a creative process that works for them by learning under accomplished songwriters in the music industry. Students will learn basic writing techniques, music terminology, performance, and aspects of music production.

MEet your
INstructors
is a Guam based songwriter, producer, singer and emcee. In 2021, he was credited as a songwriter for TWICE’s album: Formula of Love: O+T=<3. He has opened up for E-40, MadeinTYO, PnB Rock, Jhené Aiko and Tinashe. Along with being the highest streamed artist on Guam, JED opened up Straight Up Studios, a recording/production studio based on-island. JED also speaks in third person when writing bios.

How do i sign up?
Click the SIGN UP button above or below and fill out our sign-up sheet. Since slots are limited, we will be reviewing applications.
You will be notified a week before classes via email whether or not you have been accepted into the program.
what genre will we be learning in class?
We will be covering all the top genres in this course.
will we be producing our own music?
The course will be mainly focused on how to write a song from conception to production. By the end of the program, you will be able to write a song with your peers and we will produce it for you.
is this program open to adults?
We currently do not offer any adult classes, but if there is enough interest we will consider it.
how long is the Songwriting program?
Our program will be 16 weeks long and will officially start on February 21st and end with a collective EP of all the songs written by the students in the class.
